Tick off the required papers as you gather them for your application:
Lakshmir Bhandar is one of the West Bengal government’s most popular flagship social security schemes. Launched in 2021 to make the women who drive their families financially self-reliant and to give them financial security.
Under the current 2026 rules, eligible General and OBC category women receive ₹1,000 per month, and Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) category women ₹1,200 per month, directly into their bank accounts (DBT).
🔄 Important update: Lakshmir Bhandar’s verification and implementation now run under the state government’s new Annapurna Yojana framework and through the new portal socialregistry.wb.gov.in (the earlier socialsecurity.wb.gov.in portal now redirects to this address). To know what to do if the status shows ‘Under Enquiry’ or ‘Rejected’ on the new portal, read: the complete rules for filing a Claim and Objection under Annapurna Yojana.
In short: Under Lakshmir Bhandar, eligible General/OBC women receive ₹1,000 and SC/ST women ₹1,200 per month. To apply, take your Swasthya Sathi card, Aadhaar card and Aadhaar-linked single bank account passbook to a Duare Sarkar camp — completely free of cost. Check your status/payment on socialregistry.wb.gov.in under ‘Track Applicant Status’.
Who cannot receive: Women who hold government jobs (central or state), receive a government pension, or pay income tax are not eligible for this scheme’s benefits.
The following documents must be submitted as photocopies at the time of application:
The most reliable route for applying to the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme is the state’s ‘Duare Sarkar’ camp.

If the status shows ‘Under Enquiry’ or ‘Rejected’, there’s no need to panic — to learn the complete rules for filing a Claim/Objection online with the correct reason, read: the complete rules for filing a Claim and Objection under Annapurna Yojana. And for beneficiaries over 60, see the Old Age Pension online application guide.
No, under government guidelines the money is credited only to the applicant woman's single bank account. If a joint account is given, the payment may be cancelled or stuck — go to the bank, open a separate single account and submit that instead.
First check your status on socialregistry.wb.gov.in. If it shows bank validation failed or an Aadhaar link problem, go to the bank and get NPCI Mapping and DBT activated. If the problem still isn't solved, contact the local BDO (rural) or SDO/municipality office (urban).
The allowance is credited directly to the bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) at the beginning of each month. If it is delayed in any month, check the status on the portal — the exact payment date is shown there.
No. The allowance comes only to the Aadhaar-linked single account opened in the applicant woman's own name. There is no provision to send the allowance to a husband's or anyone else's account.
On socialregistry.wb.gov.in, the status can also be viewed with the application ID, Swasthya Sathi number or Aadhaar number — without a mobile number. But to receive OTPs and notifications in the future, visit the block/municipality office and get the new number updated.
The Lakshmir Bhandar allowance stops at 60 years of age, but beneficiaries automatically come under the state government's Old Age Pension scheme. For details, see our Old Age Pension online application guide.
No. The application form is completely free at Duare Sarkar camps or panchayat/municipality offices. Don't give a single rupee to an agent or tout — and be sure to collect the Acknowledgement Slip of your application.
