Why PM-Kisan or Krishak Bandhu instalments fail with 'Aadhaar not mapped to NPCI', how Aadhaar–bank DBT seeding works, how to check NPCI mapper status and what FTO generated means.
Tick off the required papers as you gather them for your application:
You checked the status and saw “Transaction Failed” or “Aadhaar Number is not mapped to NPCI” — this one reason accounts for nearly two-thirds of all stuck payments in both PM-Kisan and Krishak Bandhu. The government released the money, but it isn’t reaching your account. Understand the real point first: giving your Aadhaar at the bank (KYC) and mapping it in NPCI are two different jobs. Doing one does not automatically do the other.
The government no longer sends money to account numbers — it sends it to Aadhaar numbers. The steps along the way:
So submitting Aadhaar at the bank completes only the KYC. Until you give the bank explicit permission (the “DBT mandate”), your account will not be added to the NPCI mapper.
“FTO is Generated and Payment Confirmation is Pending” means the release order has been issued — if the mapping is fine, the money usually arrives within 15–20 days. If it keeps showing Failed, use the fix below.
If you get seeding done on two accounts, the money will go to the one done last — the account seeded most recently in the mapper is the DBT destination.
In rural banks/cooperatives, seeding is often delayed. In that case, opening an IPPB account at the post office and getting DBT seeding done on it is a workable option — it can be opened on the basis of Aadhaar, and the seeding becomes Active quickly. But remember: the money will go to the bank number recorded on the scheme portal (PM-Kisan/Krishak Bandhu) — if you change the account, you must update it on the portal too.
