Forested with sal and piyal, Jhargram's climate sits close to Purulia–Bankura — summers reach 42–44°C, winters are pleasantly cool. The rain-washed green forest is beautiful, but forest travel is far more comfortable in the dry season.
November–February — dry cool weather and good roads; also stay alert for elephant herds in the forest in this season.
