This small hill district on Deolo's ridge weathers much like Darjeeling — mild summers (15–22°C), a fierce monsoon and cold winters. During the rains, landslides on the Rishi and Teesta slopes close roads regularly.
March–May (the flowering season) and October–December (clear skies). In both windows, views and road access are at their best.
Better to avoid — July–September landslides frequently close NH10 and the connecting roads.
December–January nights fall to 5–8°C — pack a heavy sweater and a jacket.
